Job Opportunities Are Finally On The Up, Get Prepared Now

Positive News - UK unemployment has finally started to fall, creating hope for the millions still out of work. Job vacancy numbers have also increased and applicants are advised to refresh their skills in preparation for the upturn.

The Office of National Statistics recorded that there were 482,000 vacancies in the first three months of this year, up 16,000 from Spring last year. This was largely created by temporary Government roles and recruitment agencies have also noticed an increase in temp positions.

Temp positions are highly sought after and the interview process is still as rigorous. Many people have been out of work for a while now and the thought of a job interviews can be pretty scary when you know the job will have so many applicants. If you are lucky enough to get short listed you need to step up your game in order to bag one of these newly available opportunities.

“First impressions really count.” says Annette Lewis, an interview coach at Anson Reed the interview skills training and coaching specialist. “Make sure you look the part and are fully prepared. While the content of any interview answer is important, the way it's structured can make all the difference between losing and winning.”

Remember all of the recommendations for creating a good first impression such as arriving on time, wearing appropriate dress, adopting the right body language, etc. Research the company and try to imagine some of the questions that may be asked so that you can prepare answers in advance.
